With a range from 15,000 kg to 70,000 kg capacity and wheel diameters varying from 820 mm to 1850 mm, our high load capacity twin drive wheels, available with cushion, super elastic and pneumatic tyres, are used in RTGs, straddle carriers, travel lifts, mobile hoppers, port cranes, belt conveyors, stackers and other port and mining machinery. Thanks to special gearboxes and motors, we can produce drive wheels capable of operating at very low speeds (below 0.4 km/h) without electric motor overheating, ensuring high positioning precision, compact dimensions and high load capacities. Our twin wheels can be equipped with single or dual wheel traction and with hydraulic cylinder steering systems or electric/hydraulic motors.
Twin wheels with hydraulic levelling system
With a range from 15,000 kg to 50,000 kg capacity, wheel diameters from 820 mm to 1450 mm and levelling system travel from +/- 50 mm to +/- 300 mm, our high load capacity twin drive wheels, equipped with hydraulic levelling/lifting systems, are ideal for applications on self-propelled modular transporters, boat transporters, shipyard trucks, port cranes and multi-axle industrial machinery. The levelling system ensures constant contact of all machine axles with the ground, guaranteeing maximum load stability. Our twin wheels with hydraulic levelling systems can be equipped with single or dual wheel traction, hydraulic cylinder steering systems and electric/hydraulic motors.
4-wheel bogies
With a range from 50,000 kg to 140,000 kg capacity and wheel diameters from 1250 mm to 1850 mm, our cushion, super elastic and pneumatic tyres are employed on high load capacity 4-wheel bogies, used in RTGs, straddle carriers, travel lifts, mobile hoppers, port cranes, belt conveyors, stackers, reclaimers and other port and mining machinery. Thanks to special gearboxes and motors, we are able to produce drive wheels with very low speeds (less than 0.4 km/h), avoiding electric motor overheating, ensuring high positioning precision, compact dimensions and high load capacities. Our bogies can be equipped with two, three or four-wheel traction, fixed or with hydraulic cylinder, electric or hydraulic motor steering systems.
Approximately 15 years ago, anticipating future market needs, Borghi Assali’s management, supported by a highly dynamic technical office, recognised the growing requirement for drive wheels with electric traction and steering, capable of supporting large load capacities.
These wheels were required to replace hydraulic ones, which had become unsuitable for certain applications, and to respond to the end of self-sufficiency of some companies that were self-manufacturing hydraulic drive wheels for port and mining machinery. From this vision emerged significant production of high load capacity electric and hydraulic drive wheels, which has generated an extensive product range capable of meeting the most diverse requirements.
